This is the Air I Breathe

If you have been a patient in a hospital or have visited one, then you've probably seen one of these instruments.  Beloved and I now have "his" and "hers".  If we were so inclined, we could have competitions with each other!

For the uninitiated, this is what hospital patients are given to encourage them to breathe deeply, to avoid developing pneumonia while they are spending so much time in bed.  In recent years Beloved has been hospitalized twice with double pneumonia, so we are very well-acquainted with this toy.

However, since the last bout of pneumonia (nearly 3 years ago), Beloved has stopped smoking and lost 55 pounds.  As a result of that, he is a much healthier man and this 'toy' was no problem for his lungs with this hospitalization.  It was a wonderful thing for my eyes to see!

The caption under today's picture is a link to a You Tube video of the lyrics to a worship song that is popular now in evangelical churches.  You may enjoy clicking on it and singing along.
