"From small beginnings great things grow" -- or something like that. We harvested the first of our green peas and green onions yesterday. By unanimous agreement, we will wait until the onions are bigger before pulling any more of them out of the soil.
The peas were tender, green and sweet. All of the day's produce was carefully rinsed and added to some leftover salad, which essentially buried our home-grown contributions out of sight.
But it's a happy beginning and gives us satisfaction that something positive is happening outside where the seeds were planted earlier in the season.
